I Said What I Said
Podcast + Website of NFL's Gerald McCoy
I was initially approached by Tulsa production company FubbzMedia in October 2022 to assist with the launch of the I SAID WHAT I SAID project, featuring retired NFL player and 6-time Pro Bowler Gerlad McCoy in a unique hosting capacity off the field.
The project, consisting of both podcast and affiliated companion site, GERALD SAID IT, explored the areas of brand identity, audio production, web design and web development. With assistance from FubbzMedia and Gerald’s personal company, Patricia Diane Productions, I assisted with post-production of the podcast’s inaugural season and built out the GERALD SAID IT site.
The podcast’s first seven episodes were released between November 2022 and January 2023, with the companion website launched shortly thereafter.

Roles
As is commonplace with the beginning of a podcast project, I researched potential music selections and audio soundbites that fit the client’s wishes for the podcast. This process often involves sourcing music that abides by Creative Commons licensing guidelines and other regulations.
Once collected, I was asked to lend my voice to the podcast’s intro and outro — offering additional narration that would form the bedrock of the podcast’s unique feel and production.
Once audio was recorded and approved by FubbzMedia and the Patricia Diane Productions team, I proceeded with post-production edits of the podcast’s inaugural seven episodes and promotional material.
All audio is scrutinized during the mixing and engineering process to ensure high production value and appropriate cuts when needed.
To complement the podcast’s release, I was also tasked with the creation of GERALD SAID IT, a companion website housing all episodes and future news surrounding the podcast.
Designed in Figma and later developed in WordPress, the website was created with a mobile-first ideology to ensure seamless access to episode releases for mobile users.
